My Surface Pro 7 has an "empty" USB-C port, all the USB-C based cables I've tried to connect to an external monitor weren't tight enough, to enable a seamless connection the external monitor. I have to align the other cables so that they are at a certain angle to the USB-C connector so that the external monitor does not go blank. This cable works like magic, it's very tight and surface movement doesn't interrupt the display on an external monitor. That's a great relief! I recommend it to anyone with similar problems.
