Review on 🚫 Sentry 2.0 Phone Call Blocker: The Ultimate Solution for Blocking Unwanted Calls by Danielle Rogers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Peace and quiet, FINALLY!

This is one of the best devices I have ever bought. Now my phone is silent day and night. When he calls, I know it's someone I WANT to talk to. For those who buy one of these call blocking devices, I have a word of advice: whitelisted devices are the ONLY way. Devices that just get blacklisted are a waste of money as you can NEVER keep up with scammers, there are too many of them and they use new/different fake numbers on every call! I first tried a blacklisted call blocker and sent it back. Programming is easy but time-consuming if you have a lot of numbers to whitelist, but it's well worth the time and effort. One very important thing to know is that a caller who is not on your whitelist can still reach you, but the spammer/scammer will not perform the "dial 0" procedure. FYI, I'm using a Panasonic 4-way DECT handset. Cordless Phone System 6.0 with answering machine and I'm using it in my usual (preferred) serial line configuration. If you connect it this way, my phones will be completely silent for unwanted calls. I did NOT have to wire it in parallel, which is what Panasonic phones claim to use. Phones show CID information when calling, but they don't show CID information when a call comes in from someone who isn't whitelisted, unless they dial '0' to get through. Sentry stores the CID of all calls whether they go through or not. I should also mention that I use OOMA for my home phone. Update #1 11/24/2018: Now that we're through the election cycle, I'm even more impressed with the gadget. I can see from the caller ID that he hangs up an average of 6 calls a day, VERY impressive! Previously, some people who weren't on the whitelist and needed to reach me were able to get through, but the scammers/spammers/caller bots didn't attempt to go through the "dial 0" procedure. Update #2 on January 18th. 2021: After another voting cycle, I can tell you that this device simply WORKS! It rejects an average of 10-12 calls a day. So far no spammer/scammer has attempted to circumvent the "dial 0" procedure, but I received a call at the doctor's office.
