Broke on first use, sharp handle, plastic and metal don't mix well

Every Christmas my family has a tradition of baking shortbread cookies. I've been using a Marcato cookie press for about 20 years, but eventually the bottom of the press broke so I went in search of a replacement. The new Marcato Atlas seemed a bit expensive to me. When looking for an alternative, this press seemed like a reasonable choice. After sitting in my Revain car for a few months the price dropped and I gave it a try. At first glance, everything is fine, but as soon as I started using it, several problems appeared at once: the lower inner disk in the press is not just plastic. , it doesn't feel particularly hard AND NOT flat! It has odd recessed parts that dough would immediately get stuck on, and I had to clean it out while adding new ones. the same place; Not perfect, but at least I was able to get through it. However, my 15 year old daughter really couldn't squeeze the handle without injuring herself. But the main problem: the upper part of the internal mechanism is another piece of plastic. The outer metal bushing sits on it kind of under a lip which I think is supposed to hold it in place but allows the bushing to be rotated freely and bolted to the cylinder body. The first 2 fills allowed us to make 2 butter cookie trays, but as soon as I filled them a third time and started squeezing the handle, the top metal collar popped out over that plastic lip, rendering the cookie press useless. I removed all the dough and tried to put it back on but after many tries I couldn't. I had to put that press aside and get back to solving my old Mercato's problems. Return this press and just spend the money on a new Mercato Atlas press. Hopefully this will last me another 20 years.
