Decent Lightweight Single Crimp Terminals ASIN: B01823DKVM

This review refers to the terminals that I received with the purchase with the ASIN B01823DKVM and only to these terminals. - Compulsory use. They allow you to crimp the bare portion of the wire but do NOT hold the insulation so as not to create tension. For this reason I consider them UNSUITABLE for any application where you need protection against wire bending (usually due to movement and/or vibration) or any application where the terminated wire may be pulled under. In the photos I have tried to show some details of their construction. The "X-ray" image shows three "zones" of the terminal: This is the push-in terminal itself, the wire crimp part (marked with a yellow stripe), and the "boot" part (marked with a green stripe). . The metallic content of the terminal ends where my yellow bar ends. There is no metal at all in the "shield" part, so providing a little insulation over the stripped portion of your cable only helps. Crimping the part of these terminals marked with a green stripe will only deform the plastic housing. It will NOT adhere to your wire insulation and will not hold the crimp in a predictable manner. It literally just deforms the plastic; that's all. This is a little tricky to depict due to the loss of depth perception, but in the photo from the end I'm showing the "loading" area of the terminal; You can see it's just plastic. The metal tone you see in the photo is the end of the wire crimp. The terminals crimp perfectly with the right tool and are snug when mated with a 1/4" push-in quick connector. (whatever you call it) terminal. I won't argue with complaints that they're too tight because that's just not the area I'm going to cover In short, I think firm is a good thing and - with proper use of force - I've had no problems with the mating clamps or with the devices I connect them to bad technique etc so I won't try to comment on this other than I crimped almost the entire pack (of 100) of wires in the size range they are intended for with only 2 mistakes so I can 'I don't really see any problems as these are LIGHT TERMINALS and should be used in the applications for which they are intended.
