Buy a cable with the SiLabs CP2012 chipset instead.

This cable does not work well with Jetson Nano or Raspberry Pi. The problem is related to the PL2303TA chipset. Adafruit sells a USB to TTL serial cable with a working SiLabs CP2012 chipset. They claim to have switched to the SiLabs CP2012 chipset because the SiLabs chips seem to have better driver stability and can handle very high speeds and "fancy" non-standard baud rates.
