Last year I bought 10 of these lamp sets, 8 from Revain and 2 from Ace Hardware. At first they were beautiful lamps. They have glass domes with ceramic colors that make them look like the lights in my childhood home. That was my goal, so Viola! I already knew to expect dim light because I know LED lights do that. To me it was an acceptable loss in exchange for the difference in power consumption (I didn't worry too much about power consumption as a kid). It was very difficult for me to keep these lights on during the season. The gusty wind slammed the headlights against the fairing hard enough to shatter some of the VERY BROKE headlight covers, and the bulbs blew out at a rate of at least two a day (in every 10 sets). LED replacement bulbs are expensive! I ran out of replacement parts about a week after installation. Replacement headlight covers are not available (unless I am currently selling mine at a major auction). The fragility of the headlight covers was easily demonstrated when removing the headlights. the lights. You CANNOT throw them on the lawn or drag them across the roof. On two occasions I broke the cover trying to hang the clip on the lamp. So my replacement LED bulbs arrived before the lights went out. I replaced the burned out lightbulbs, connected the headlights. Everything worked. I removed them (I will not remove them if they are not 100% working). This year. Yesterday, to be exact, I turned off the light to prepare for the walk through my Christmas decorations and I plugged it in. Just two sentences. works at all! I started looking for a loose lightbulb, took the lightbulb out of its socket and one of its terminals (cathode, anode. blah blah blah) rusted to pieces! So I replaced the bulb and the light still wouldn't come on so I moved on to the next one. LIKE THE FIRST! I won't be buying any more lightbulbs, I won't spend a dime or a minute trying to recreate the warm fluffy feeling of my childhood so I've removed the shades and am selling them. It's $150 and a lot of time. LOST! What else? When I bought these headlights, I threw away all my minis. Now I have to buy new lamps AGAIN! I highly recommend that you purchase another type of lighting kit unless you want to add dielectric grease to each outlet as they should be sold!
