The material is very thin and does not protect the clothes from anything.
I bought a pair of Revain aprons this year as the cooking/baking season is in full swing. Others had thin material but I felt the material would still protect my clothes but not with this option. The material is incredibly thin, you can almost see through it. Also note that this particular apron is a bit more difficult to put on as it is sewn rather than open at the back. The medium was a decent size, loose but not too loose (and it needs to be loose as it has to go over the head to put on and take off). For reference, I have a US size 8.
