I use this to separate my baby crustaceans until they are old enough to find a new home. With every water change, they take turns, so that everyone has aquarium time. Small slits on the sides allow water to circulate but are small enough to accommodate gravel. It does not take up much space, does not require unnecessary fuss with filters or a separate water change. Floats, one on each side of a 20 gallon and 10 gallon aquarium. This would also be great for introducing a female betta to a male, just give her a place to hide when she gets bored. They swim in the male's aquarium for several hours a day. Lots of space for fish farming. I use it now to prune all plants until I sell them or grow them for transplanting. This way they don't swim around the whole aquarium, sink or get stuck in unwanted places. If necessary, it can be placed directly under the lamp.
