I bought these before I had clipless pedals. They were dormant until I got the shoes. I don't use them much, but I have a pair of chrome shoes with vintage TIME ATAC pedals. The system works great for me. To get into a fight, all I have to do is hook the first tip of the spike and then get in. I can feel the shield clinging to it. This is very low. I think if this was a problem you could perhaps sand the edge of the top of the shield to make the transition from shoe to shield smoother, but it's not necessary. If you're chasing marginal profits, it might be worth it. Haven't tried this setup with other 2-bolt clipless systems but am happy with it so far. This is on a road bike used for short rides of less than 20 miles.
