It was 8 feet, not 10
I always use a 10ft cord and it fits perfectly, but this one is 2ft shorter. The light is mostly one-sided. I would suggest turning them on before you start laying out the branches. There is some shedding, but not critical. It's quite thick and has a strong wire running through the middle. You have to bend this wire to get around corners etc. All the lights worked and the timer is a nice touch. One less thing to think about to unwind. If it was the specified length I would be satisfied.
