When I first tried this grinder I wasn't impressed. I wasn't very happy with the sanding dust collector. I used it for the second time on a wooden tabletop and was very satisfied. No, the built-in vacuum isn't like a plug-in vacuum, but I was very pleased that it picks up most of the sanding dust and is very easy to empty. Much easier than a cloth bag. The plastic trap will not clog when emptied after 5 minutes of grinding. The velcro pad holds sandpaper very securely. Love the variable speed. I use a slower speed for 80 grit sandpaper and a faster speed for fine grit. I bought this grinder instead of DeWalt dwe6423 because of the dust box. Sacks clog quickly and are difficult to empty. The plastic dust container on this one is plastic with a door on the back. Take it off the grinder, hold it upright with the door down, tap it a few times to find the dust on the bottom, and let go of the door. dust falls out. Simple, lightweight, much less messy than a cloth bag.
