Okay, for just over $10 I wasn't expecting much and I was right. I ordered a large as it was the largest size available and I wear a US 11. They fit right out of the box so I expect they will get even tighter after washing. They are far from heavy in weight/thickness but again. i get what i pay for As for "above the calf", well I'm 6ft 2 and not exactly "leaggy" but they barely reach my calves and after washing I doubt they'll be much better. Won't take again but don't go back I have a nephew who would fit them well so I'm just giving them to him to use They would fit a 16 year old wearing a us 10 and barely 5ft 10" better is than me.
