Review on Boeng 5-Cup Syphon Coffee ☕ Maker - Tabletop Siphon Coffee Brewer by Anna Ingrassia

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The cheapest siphon coffee maker that works well!

This is exactly the same as the one sold by DecentGadget - both marked BSeng TCA-5 so why pay $5 more? Have heard several complaints about the thinness of the glass and the complexity of the coffee making process. I found that none of them are true. The glass may not be as thick as a beaker, but it is not as thin and fragile as people say. Of course this is glass and like all glassware needs to be handled with care. It has a round bottom so it might tip over if left alone, but that's about it. Using this device is quite simple, just like any other siphon coffee maker, but you have to follow the instructions. Fill the glass bowl halfway, you will get a large mug. Place the filter in the top container AND SECURE IT WITH THE PIN. This can be the step that people skip. DO NOT POUR THE COFFEE YET (this may be another step that people skip). heat the water I use a butane gas lamp instead of the alcohol lamp provided - much quicker and easier to control the flame. This takes about 4 minutes, but if you can't wait, use hot water instead and it will cook faster. When 95% of the water is in the top chamber THEN add the coffee and mix thoroughly. LOOK CAREFULLY AT THE BOTTOM GLASS to make sure there is still some water in it, then turn off the burner. The coffee is strained and falls into the lower glass chamber. That's all. I think most people complain about the glass being too thin because they break the glass when the flame is burning and there is no more water in it. Yes, it will break any glass of any thickness. This makes brewing coffee fun, tastes better and only takes 6-7 minutes. I like it.
