I love my cat but hate sweeping the litter box. This rug helps keep dirt on the floor to a minimum and, unlike other rugs, is easy to clean. I bought two; one for each cat box. By the way, my only cat used to have trouble urinating outside the box, but he doesn't anymore. Not sure if it's the smell or the texture of the rug, but *so far* he's refrained from using it as a tray.
