I love my cat but hate sweeping the litter box. This rug helps keep dirt on the floor to a minimum and, unlike other rugs, is easy to clean. I bought two; one for each cat box. Saw this and thought what the heck why don't you try it. We have hardwood floors and the litter is all over the place when my cat jumps out of or follows the litter box. We used to have carpet on the outside of the tray and it made little difference. After almost a month of use, I can't live without it! She caught 95% of the litter out of the box and on her paw pads. I have never had any problems with my cats urinating on previous toilet mats that I have used. For some reason my cats keep doing it on this rug. Not sure if dirt builds up in the carpet or something, but it's become a problem. Not only that, the mat is NOT waterproof as they advertise. At least not for long. I have several litter boxes and I set up a perimeter around them with about a foot of mat extending from the front and 6 to 7 inches on each side of the drawers (back to wall). Update 2: Cat underwent surgery, urinated over the edge of the box onto the mat, licked and damaged my wooden floors. Not waterproof and again it was a nightmare to clean. Very dissatisfied.
