This product will not work with clumping litter. The instructions give two options: Spread the product on the bottom of the bowl and cover with litter OR pour on top of the litter. If you spread it out on the bottom of the tray, urine will never reach it because the litter sticks together before the liquid reaches the bottom. If you apply it over it, it will mix with the litter if your cat scratches it at all. Even if there are residues on it, the filling will become so dark when glued together that you can no longer see the color of the crystals. Not using an old-fashioned clay litter or any other type of litter that leaks urine will save you money.
