We love to decorate for the holidays, from Halloween to the 4th of July. We only hang garlands at Christmas because it's awkward going up and down the stairs twice a month. It's become such a chore, instead of decorating the outside in fun ways it's become a real chore, not to mention that after Christmas the last thing we want to do is tear it down to celebrate the HOA -meet standards. So we were entertained with permanent lighting solutions that would be almost invisible to meet HOA rules. Everything else we've found so far has either been under budget, too difficult to install, or both. Then we found it. Installation is very simple and straightforward, they have these clear plastic clips that you install and the light strip just snaps into place. We placed clamps at the beginning, at the end, one on each side just before and after the corners, and then about two feet in between. The cord is strong, with no noticeable sagging, fits snugly to the tree. During the day if you turn them on you can see them so they are pretty bright. At night they really light up the front of your house! Everything is fine with the supplied remote control. This gives you access to a set of primaries and then you can access modes. If you want to change the color to something else or between one of the primary colors, the app is a must. The app is quite simple and easy to use and gives you access to many more features and modes. I just wish you could choose your own colors for modes that switch between colors. Currently, many modes only cycle through the primary color options. The microphone seems to have sufficient sensitivity and this can be adjusted in the app. We are on the second floor of the house and due to the length of the cable the mic is on the top. It's not so sensitive that it picks up all the sounds of nature and the suburbs, which is good. But it also wasn't sensitive enough to pick up the music playing from my phone on the floor. We're hoping to turn on an outside speaker as part of our Christmas setup, and I'm hoping I don't have too much volume to get them to address them. Just take a look. Still, you can make it react to the sound that you can play in the app. Then the trick is to make sure you're syncing the music accurately enough if you're playing music on your phone in the app and have the same thing on an external speaker! Currently our plan is to connect them. every year from Halloween to Easter at full speed. although we can accept it until July 4th. Let's take a look and then turn off the power strip for the remaining months until Halloween comes around again. I think they're also great for those looking for year-round outdoor lighting solutions. Now we just have to see how they hold up for years. I hope to get at least five years of it. The body of the strip seems pretty strong and weatherproof, but I've seen the Texas sun get old and ruin so many things it's insane.
