The fan is a bit noisy but that's okay because it gets enough air out and moves the heat. My fireplace is in the living room. I'm trying to route heat from the living room (345 square feet) to the kitchen (80 square feet) and dining room (100 square feet) and split the dining room into two bedrooms. I have one of these fans between the living room and kitchen and then 1 between each bedroom/dining room (3 total). My house doesn't have the best roof insulation, but the fans seem to help keep the heat out. With outside temperatures hovering around 30F, it takes about 2-3 hours from the start of a bedroom fire to feel a significant rise in temperature. Without fans, it could take almost twice as long.
