Useful addition to store items you may need to store and connect to handlebar electronics. In my case, this is my smartphone, which I use for navigation and the on-board computer. As most of us know, using your smartphone's Bluetooth connection and satellite connection at the same time will quickly drain your phone's battery. I stow my energy batteries together with the connection cable in my bike bag and don't have to lay the cable over long distances. I could put my phone in the top compartment (and the touchscreen works really well), but browsing gets awkward when you want to keep your eyes on the road. If you don't have a waterproof phone case, a phone pocket is a good plan B if needed. There is additional storage space in addition to the arrangement described here.
