This bag was purchased to prevent normal wear and tear from my laptop. The beautiful color (navy blue) and the ventilation slots definitely protect the notebook from overheating, unlike many other cases. This material is also good for sticking things on - I use velcro to secure docks/drives and it works really well on this surface. the bottom of the laptop completely. This hasn't been a problem (yet), but sometimes opening a laptop causes the upper case to wedge under the back corner of the lower case. The only other downside to being picky is that the material has fingerprints, smudges, etc. Overall this is a good case.
