Not great, but a lot of fun

In short, this photo printer is a lot of fun and very practical, but not perfect. I will explain. Some context: I'm a big fan of Polaroid/Instax film cameras. It's fun, and who doesn't love random photos that you can physically hold or stick to your fridge. Still, I hate lugging things around, so a bulky camera isn't part of my everyday carry. I feel like people only take out these cameras if they KNOW they're going to use them. But enough about the cameras. This printer is a great alternative to these types of cameras. This has allowed me to carry something much smaller, it doesn't take 100 batteries, and the film is relatively cheap (by comparison) - about 50 cents or less per photograph. I also love their size and the sticky side is fun. Therefore, installing the printer took some time. I had to download the APK through their website, which seems a bit sketchy to me. The steps to connect it from there are pretty simple, but I still hate not being able to pull the app from the Play Store (or App Store for Apple users). Once the app is installed, everything is pretty smooth. You connect the printer via bluetooth and select the image you want to print. Here I ran into another small problem. You can crop your photo and apply some filters to it before printing. The filters are very limited and they seem blocked and there is no place to adjust or soften the filters. Maybe I just didn't get it, but they appear to be rigid presets with no editing options. In any case, when cropping my photos I try to be very specific and capture exactly what I want in the frame and not much more - as the photos are small. I noticed that the frame on the screen doesn't quite match the frame you get in the final product. It cuts a little more. Small complaints. The print speed is good. Since you don't have to wait for the photo to harden when you shake it, it's a fair deal as long as it slowly spits out, rather than shooting out and slowly shining through. The print quality is a little bad. The colors are a bit muted. The contrast is increased. sharpness decreases. Some details look rough. The edges are hit or miss and sometimes print quite clumsily and with uneven colors. A print actually seems to have squeezed the photo and everything looked very narrow. So I don't really understand what's going on. Basically I am satisfied with the product. I like the convenience of being able to give people physical photos from time to time. I love that I can put it in my weekend bag and not worry about it taking up too much space. I like the ease of use (although not exactly easy to set up). But real photos definitely leave a lot to be desired. Overall I would recommend. I would like to see how HP or Canon compare in terms of print quality. I also have different photo papers to compare and see if they make a difference. If I have relevant information to share I will update my review.
