Review on Retevis H-777 Long Range 2 Way Radio Walkie Talkies, Rechargeable USB, License-Free, LED Flashlight, Emergency Alarm - 4 Pack by Eldrick Carlton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Expensive for what they are. Using default channels.

Expensive for what they are. Using the standard ducts, we found a clean one and installed four throughout the house (3300 square feet). They work up to 1 mile away (through trees and hills), but we do a lot of "what?" type connections. The built-in microphone does not pick up the voice as expected. Update: I was contacted by Retevis customer support. (+1 star) which is always welcome and offers multiple solutions, unfortunately we use these radios as a portable intercom and unless you speak loudly directly into the microphone the receiver may miss a few words. I've been told that the microphone in the headset sounds better. I did another test. When the receiver was 15 feet away and elevated, I said "test test test", increasing in volume each time, and pressed my mouth against the mic. Whisper, everything you hear is static. In a normal speaking voice conversation, you hear 50% "tests", and in a loud voice that could be used to talk to a neighbor across the street, you hear 100% "tests", but some of it is distorted (probably because the speakers was high). Not bad, just a technological limitation.

Pros
  • CB and radio equipment
Cons
  • Some little things
