Good product! good for radios

Gave them to my son for Christmas. They are also in our emergency kits at the medical facility where I work. They are excellent, the sound is very clear. The battery life is long. I like that everyone has a charger. My brother lives next door and we have one at his house in case I have to run away in an emergency and my son is home alone. I still refuse to give him a phone lol.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Great walkie talkie

I just used it on a road trip from New York to South Carolina and back. They worked great and made getting information to and from cars very easy. It was much easier than communicating with phones. Also the kids used them when they went to our whereabouts to let us know where they were and let them run more freely. I highly recommend them.

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • no instructions

Extremely clear and powerful

These are the best radios you can buy, even at triple the price. Although I think they are not FCC licensed and may be more powerful than allowed on GRMS channels. If you are an amateur radio operator, I believe these radios can be programmed. They work well in our buildings that are 25 to 100 meters apart. I added some large whip antennas to keep them crystal clear at 100 yards between buildings.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Functionality

Great Selection - Portable Audio and Video

We bought these because my elderly parents live in our house now but it's a big house. My father has difficulty moving and is almost blind. So if he needs help anytime he has a walkie talkie to contact me when I'm in the garage, working in the yard or fishing. It's definitely better than messing around with a cell phone because it's almost blind and can't read numbers. Now it's just a textured PTT button and Mrs. and I have our own set. The range from the house is large. I can still hear it…

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Contact Seller

I have been using these radios for several years now. They seem to last about a year or more. Battery life with moderate use is 4 to 8 hours. The new model is not compatible with the old radios I bought about 6 months ago. In other words, you can't talk from new to older 6 to 12 months ago. But the new model I just bought works really well. And they are very affordable.

Pros
  • Radio
Cons
  • Damaged

Used walkie-talkies as a homemade intercom

I like these walkie-talkies because I use them for work. Our intercom is broken at the moment so I decided to put walkie talkies in every room and turn the volume up all the way so it could work as a makeshift intercom. It works great because I can hear it loud and clear. I just wish it had a clip on the back so I can clip it to my belt or something. But other than that it does the job I wanted to use it for. It's very light so it doesn't weigh me down when I'm carrying it around. I dropped it…

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Expensive for what they are. Using default channels.

Expensive for what they are. Using the standard ducts, we found a clean one and installed four throughout the house (3300 square feet). They work up to 1 mile away (through trees and hills), but we do a lot of "what?" type connections. The built-in microphone does not pick up the voice as expected. Update: I was contacted by Retevis customer support. (+1 star) which is always welcome and offers multiple solutions, unfortunately we use these radios as a portable intercom and unless you speak…

Pros
  • CB and radio equipment
Cons
  • Some little things
