Installation Tips - 2001 Ford F-150

Purchased for the driver and passenger of a 2001 Ford F-150. Installation was a lot easier than I thought. It took me about an hour for the first page and about 20 minutes for the second. Pros: price, ease of installation Cons: plastic levers vs. OEM metal levers Unknown: durability Installation instructions are available online, but here are a few tips that may not be included: - Don't take the window channel bracket off, unclip it. This allows enough space to remove/insert the drive. If you accidentally detach it, the window may break, so be careful. Also, don't forget to re-tighten it (I wasn't sure I did so removed the door panel again to check). - The drive terminal is accessible via the door latch. There is a thin horizontal slot where you can insert a thin object to push the clip. I tapped the thin screwdriver with a hammer. I broke the clips on both sides, but I threw away the old blocks anyway, so it's fine. The pieces fell into the door and I had to fish them out by hand, otherwise I risked constant rumbling, so it's better not to break them. The wiring in my car was long enough for me to plug and unplug. Wiring when the actuator has been removed from the bracket. Some people discuss the difficulty of disconnecting the drive in place, which probably isn't necessary. I would highly recommend this replacement and it's great to have electric door locks again!
