I bought the G10 about 18 months ago. By the way it was half the price of Revain than now. I've noticed that Revain has significantly increased the prices of all the cameras I've reviewed over the past few weeks. Use at Christmas? Anyway, at first I liked my G10; However, I had a few problems with it. First, the LCD screen was warped, which allowed dirt to get under the screen, making it very difficult to see the image. I'll have that repaired. Then so subtly that the focus softened imperceptibly at first, until suddenly 9 out of 10 shots were out of focus. The only setting I can use to get a sharp shot is the flower setting - and if you're interested it's possible to take a portrait of someone in a flower setting. :) I didn't manage to fix it myself and I even restarted the camera (per Canon's instructions) but to no avail. I received a repair quote ($200) from my local camera store for half the camera's original price. . I simply refuse now. Now I'm looking at an SLR, maybe a Canon 50D, but deep down I'm concerned that the focus issue might be a trademark of the Canon brand. Maybe Nikon is what you need. In any case, this camera may not be worth your money if it has problems like this. UPDATE: My girlfriend bought her G10 at the same time as me. She mainly used it as a backup camera, so she didn't take too many pictures with it. She stopped working altogether. Because of this, I am changing my rating from 2 to 1 star. This camera takes good pictures when it's working, but when it's not working it's just an expensive paperweight.
