Great camera - could be cleaner from seller

I have one of those approx 3000 photos from 2008-2013 but I bought it for my ex-wife. I decided I wanted one for myself so I looked for the best used one I could find. The camera came with a "Tested by Jeff" tag from the seller. Jeff needs to learn how to clean the cameras before they head out the door. hobby photographer. I also spent four years in New York working with some of the most famous photographers in the world, so part of my job was equipment maintenance. There was sticky dust and…

Really great camera

I have had this camera for about 6 years now and still love it. When I got it, it was the best point and shoot camera out there, and while there are some better options now (in terms of MP and overall digital quality), I have yet to trade this little gem for something else. The functions are simple and easy to use. i love canon Once you learn how to use a model, you can pick any other Canon and use that too. Aside from the excellent quality of the 14.7 megapixel camera, I like the look and feel

Great Camera: Digital Cameras

This is the fifth Canon camera I have owned and the best compact camera I have ever used. The manual controls are very easy to use and the images are very beautiful when using the automatic modes. I bought this camera to take with me when my DSLR is impractical or uncomfortable. I read a few reviews from people complaining about poor low light performance and I was a bit skeptical before I bought it. But now I understand why they might think that way. Adjusting the ISO isn't that easy with most

Nearly perfect point and shoot camera

Canon Powershot G10 14.7 MP digital camera with 5x optical wide angle zoom and image stabilization I'm a serious amateur photographer. I need a camera that works in all situations. The G-10 is the successor to Canon's earlier high-end digital rangefinder cameras. It's more expensive than most digital rangefinders, but I think it's worth it. The new model offers a 5x optical zoom (28mm lens). It allows full control over ISO and white balance, as well as a range of other features that can be…

Released July 4, 2013 for Canon G10. . . Not 2008

Although I am posting this review today, July 4th, 2013, Revain refuses to accept it on that date. One might think that a rating after 5 years of use would be desirable, but that was not the case. AMAZ insists on dating it to 2008. Technically it's not great. I bought this camera here at Revain in September 2008. After 10,000+ photos, I'm happy with the overall performance, barring some low-light issues. I shoot in manual mode probably 25% of the time. This camera has never given me any…

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Infinitely Sluggish

I bought the G10 about 18 months ago. By the way it was half the price of Revain than now. I've noticed that Revain has significantly increased the prices of all the cameras I've reviewed over the past few weeks. Use at Christmas? Anyway, at first I liked my G10; However, I had a few problems with it. First, the LCD screen was warped, which allowed dirt to get under the screen, making it very difficult to see the image. I'll have that repaired. Then so subtly that the focus softened…

Photographer's camera

Canon Powershot G10 14.7 MP digital camera with 5x wide optical zoom and image stabilization I've had the Canon Powershot G10 for about a week now and am very happy with my choice. The camera (my third "flagship" digital camera - the previous ones were Nikon and Fuji) is definitely a camera for photographers, with all the controls being intuitive and easy to use. For example, while all digital cameras I've owned have had the ability to adjust exposure levels, this is the only camera that…

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • So far so good

compared to LX3 on camera and photo

summary: good in daylight, lousy in available light i spent about half a year with my g10. I have a Canon DSLR (1DS), SD790IS and a Leica D-Lux 4 (aka Panasonic Lumix LX3). The lx3/dlux4 is its main competitor and I've spent some time with micro quads (EP1, GF1) so I feel pretty good about this plus a very useful zoom range (28mm to 140mm in 35mm terms). LX3/DLux4 are 24-60+ awesome controllers. I love the EV compensation disc and the ISO disc. works well with gloves and one hand. You can pull…
