But we like it. in Games & Accessories

I loved the Perplexus and bought it for my husband who will love the challenge it brings. When we got it there was a loose propeller that was spinning, getting in the way at times and just really annoying. He said he didn't mind because he would just take it to work so everyone could enjoy the challenge. (But really hates going back.) It's a great game and we love it, but beware it can be problematic.

Great game for all ages

Great product! Acceptable price! build quality. The numerical progression of the maze measures the progress of the player's skills. Children experience a tremendous sense of achievement as they reach higher and higher numbers. Also, comparing numbers each time the maze is attacked encourages friendly competition between players. Parents (and grandparents) will be delighted to see their children (and grandchildren) fully immersed in non-electronic play!

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

A fun game that never gets old

This is our second Perplexus; Our first got stuck under a chair and broke. Everyone in our house loves it. The idea is very simple - guide the small ball through the maze to the winning circle. But there are all sorts of bumps, trails, and challenges to overcome along the way. You have to twist and turn the ball to make the ball fly where you want and it's quite difficult. None of us fully solved it, but it's a lot of fun to try. We also tried the blue and white perplexus (forget the name) and…

Everyone had fun, except.

Bought a couple of these to confuse all the males in the family for Christmas. It was great, they were a hit. It was actually a time when all cell phones were unknowingly put away as everyone stared at the puzzle. I am addicted! I noticed the other day that the ball is starting to change. It looks rusty. The shiny (chrome?) finish wears off and the ball doesn't roll as smoothly as it used to. I'm not sure if that affects gameplay. I'm not too concerned as the ball is sealed. It's frustrating to

Okay but rookie was more than my speed

I liked Beginner and it is said to be about the same difficulty level. Even if I don't like it that much. Some of the hurdles have less to do with deducing the right strategy and more to do with having a very solid hand and very lucky behavior. If you only want to choose a perplexus, choose Novice. It's definitely not easy enough to get bored. Even after I've mastered it, it still takes 5-10 minutes of concentration to complete, so it's good for taking a break from whatever you're doing. It…

Very Frustrating - Games and Accessories

This Perplexus is the worst Perplexus toy we've tried. This is very frustrating. Heavier and more difficult to maneuver. We have a Confusion Rookie (Rebel), an Original (Beast), and an Epic. All of this is easy to hold and move. Due to the batteries and the motor, it is less comfortable to hold. Also, the ball sometimes gets stuck and instead of tapping lightly like other toys, you really need to push it. This causes the ball to bounce off and hit a completely different part of the lane. So the

I love everything about Perplexus, but this leaves a lot to be desired.

On the one hand, I like the unique approach to Spinning Maze puzzles. They have four concentric circles, and they all move in the opposite direction from their neighbors. And it's motorized, where you can move at one of three different speeds with a button you press to temporarily "stop" it, or vice versa. it will stop unless you press the button. That's very smart! On the other hand, I don't think they put as much emphasis on the actual puzzle mechanics as others. Do not get me wrong. The…
