Review on Provon Medicated Lotion Soap Chloroxylenol by Sarah Smith

Revainrating 4 out of 5

This soap is a game changer with piercings

It's only the end of the second week of re-piercing the helix, there is almost no tenderness or pain in my ear. If I have a tragus done, I make sure to clean it with sea salt every day. but I remember it being painful to the touch for a while. I've even tried different methods to ease the pain and speed up the healing process (tea tree and jojoba oils, chamomile baths, other mild soaps, etc.). Although my piercing eventually healed, I found it very difficult to find a better method as sea salt baths irritated the piercing somewhat. my piercing still felt sore. I was looking at other products and came across this one. The first few times I only used it in the morning and bathed with sea salt in the evening. I noticed that the ear really didn't hurt during the day, but it hurt at night from the sea salt baths. So I just started using Provon soap only twice a day (first thing in the morning and then at night before bed). and it made a big difference for me. My ear hasn't had any pain since using Provon alone and it really seemed to heal properly. Every time I wash the piercing with soap, it hurts less than it used to when I soap my ear. Even the last two days I've woken up and didn't realize I was sleeping on my newly pierced ear because it didn't even hurt (from previous piercings, rolling onto my side with a new piercing would wake me up immediately in pain ). I no longer dared to pierce the helix again because I didn't want to deal with the healing process. but using this soap made everything so smooth for me. I know that almost 2 weeks with this soap is not that long, but from 8 punctures I have never had such a quick and painless healing. I wish I had had it from the start.

Pros
  • understandable even for the old ones
Cons
