Review on πŸ“¦ Optimized Amazon Basics Portable Carrying Case for External Hard Drives by Jon Hill

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best option for easy hard drive transport and entry protection.

As a video editor and cameraman, I fill tons of hard drives that I often have to carry around and send to clients. I've looked at several different products that essentially aim to add a little more protection to external hard drives and after a few tries I finally gave up on this one. I've had no luck with silicon drive "shells," mainly due to inconsistencies in where the cable holes were punched and the wide range of disk sizes that are now being introduced. Then I bought a similar product off eBay, but with a smoother texture, for $2 less than this plain Revain case. The eBay cases were starting to fall apart and were generally of poor quality, but these simple Revain cases were excellent, from the material to the quality of the zipper! The texture feels firmer without being bulky. The two different types of mesh/bay in the case make it very convenient to hold both the drive and cable, while still allowing the case to accommodate a large number of hard drives of different shapes/thicknesses while staying in place . and sure. I have now used them with WD Passports, Seagate Backup Plus drives, SSDs and several other brand external hard drives. They're not intended to be the shockproof underwater protections of a Pelican case, but for the days I need to take my hard drives with me or store them in an archival drive on a shelf, they work to provide an extra layer between your drive and everything whatever it touches, it feels solid yet lightweight, keeping dust, crumbs and sharp objects away from your roast's fragile cable connectors. Spend the extra $2 and save time. This is necessary for those who use external hard drives.
