This was my first experience with a screen protector for one of my devices. I am absolutely certain that this is better than the flimsy plastic sheeting that is usually sold in stores. I think the protection is better and I like its suppleness. My only negative comments or words of caution are that I applied it to the center first, thinking I would have to squeeze out the bubbles. I took it off and then applied it again, starting at the edge. This made it much easier to remove any bubbles that formed along the way. The great thing is that the screen protector was still stuck to the iPad after you took it off and put it back on. I also like that they sent me an extra one so I have a backup copy in case I messed up the install or it falls off.
