Dangerous! Return to single stage version

I was trying to use these bulbs in my 2011 Hyundai Sonata to replace the brake lights. My existing brake lights are dual stage (i.e. they serve as both a dim tail light when the headlights are on and a brighter brake light when the brakes are applied). After installing and testing these lamps for the first time, I noticed for the first time that they didn't fit exactly. I had to work hard to screw them into the clamps. Initially, however, they seemed to work well. When my headlights were on, they lit my taillights at a low level, according to their response. When I press the brake pedal, they glow brighter to match their response. Fast forward a few days later and one evening I was driving home with my headlights on and noticed in the reflection of the car behind me that my brake lights seemed to be invisible. I later enlisted the help of a friend and confirmed my worst fears. The headlights were "stuck" at one lighting level, so my headlights and taillights did NOT shine brighter when I pressed the brake pedal. I was shocked! I had virtually no brake lights at night (except for my third brake light from the top). The next morning he seemed to "return" to his normal work. Pretty cryptic. I gave it one last try and the next night it worked normally at first, but after driving for a while I checked again and found the brake lights didn't come back on. Enough was enough. I ended up experimenting with my security. Those bulbs are gone and have been replaced by other branded bulbs that are much more reliable. I need brake lights that I can rely on 100%. BUYER BEWARE - it is dangerous!
