I bought a 3 component filter and thought I installed the filter correctly - this isn't the first time I've changed the water filter. Even if it seemed a little easy. I had a service technician for another issue and he showed me that the filter wasn't installed at all because the shape of the plastic catch on the filter didn't allow it to fit fully into the slot, so it was that "easy".
