My husband and I work hard to be "the people" in our neighborhood who are always willing to put up decorations to please the many young families in our densely populated corner to entertain the world. This year it seems especially important to give people something interesting! Our Halloween decorations were really good so we bought this inflatable figure to decorate our Thanksgiving game and to complement the two inflatable turkeys we already have. It was such a disappointment we didn't even know what to do with it. Most of our other bouncy castles (we have turkeys for Thanksgiving, ghosts and dragons for Halloween, and various bouncy castles for Christmas) have bases that can be bolted to the floor, or the bases are reinforced with some kind of weight or something to give them weight give center of balance. This gives stability to the units. There is no such thing in this device, and the airflow is actually attached to the SIDE of the gourd fabric. At the bottom of the device are several patches of cloth to which a stake can be attached (two - one to his leg and the other to the pumpkin), but because they are separate and not attached to anything material. , the device simply dangles at these contact points with the ground. To make matters worse, the fan is rather weak. Our "8ft" turkey was closer to 6ft because its head could barely support enough pressure to stay upright and its legs collapsed under the weight of the rest of the inflatable. As soon as the wind blew (and it does, because it's NOVEMBER in Wisconsin!), the poor thing collapsed like a drunk. We tried putting weights (filled water bottles) into the gourd to stabilize and possibly keep it upright, but the head still couldn't straighten out in the evening breeze. To be honest we couldn't stop laughing at how pathetic that was! The situation got worse when we tried to secure it with guy ropes and pegs. It may seem very small, but there are only two places where lines can be attached to an inflatable boat. Based on our experience with this type of jewelry, you must attach it in at least 3 directions to avoid wind problems. However, since the fan is so weak, any attempt to tighten the lines would simply pull the whole thing closer to the ground. Not only was he lying around like he was under the influence, his legs were beginning to pin him to the floor like an accordion. After we left him alone he didn't sleep for about 5 minutes before completely capsizing. Maybe if you can put it up somewhere without worrying about wind it will work. Any attempt to actually secure it just threw it to the ground because the fan is so weak. I will not buy from this manufacturer again.
