I don't recall ever seeing ice because I'm from the Rostov region, where real frosts are rare. This snow, this porridge, this wet asphalt is all ours. Because there is nothing for the spikes to grab onto around here, I have been using Velcro for quite some time. It uses very little gas and runs smoothly on a rubberized surface while yet being quite quiet and comfortable. In particular, I have driven on all kinds of surfaces throughout the past year and can attest that Bridgestone Blizzak Ice provides a good hitch, allowing the car to confidently move along the road without swaying. Perhaps the spikes will slide more easily on smooth ice, but where does this occur? The snow is either compacted down from above or chemicals are spread on the road. For a few days or a few kilometers of severe frost/ice, I don't think it's necessary to move like a tank. Even after a year of use, the protector is still effective; no hernias have developed. My expectations for the wheels were met, thus I consider the purchase a success.
