Adding M.2 drives is very easy, just make sure the metal cover doesn't fit over the drive. The lid should snap into place without much force, and to remove it simply push the tab on the end and it should pop open. I forced the lid on when the drive wasn't seated properly and almost ruined the basket trying to pry the lid off. Why would you use this basket you ask. Well, if you want to swap drives out regularly (perhaps to boot different operating systems) or need to do maintenance on the M.2 drives you use in external enclosures, you don't have to open your computer to connect them by using a caddy free slot.
