I bought these shorts to wear with short skirts and blouses to protect against the Marilyn Monroe effect when it gets windy. They fit well and, like most Danskin products, are just the right size. I wouldn't go down a size, but if you're in doubt between M and L, choose M. I also like that they're mostly cotton. Warning: If you have large hips, these shorts will lift up as you walk and end up just below your buttocks. If I had to buy them again I would choose the 7 inch version of these shorts. But while they hide my butt on hot summer days, I keep the ones I have.
