Well I put this on the back of my car, magnet on the underside where the spare tire is next to the rear bumper. My car was parked in the lane when a drunk driver hit it head-on. The drunk hit my car with such force that her jeep overturned in the street and my car was immediately smashed. It hit my car with such force that my car was thrown into the car behind me, and that car was also only crushed by the secondary impact of my own. The day after my car was separated from the following car and towed to emergency storage, I wondered if the spare key was still there, almost convinced there was no way it was. To my surprise, this Master Lock key box hasn't moved an inch. I highly recommend that if you think your keys might get rusty from the weather and/or humidity simply place them in a sealed bag before placing them in the case.
