Great document. lightweight and portable.

This thing is a lifesaver. A quick and easy way to set up multiple monitors. Even better, my laptop screen can act as a third display, which my docking station at work can't. That's actually what I bought it for. On the plus side, there are additional USB ports, which is great as my laptop only has 2 USB3 ports. Four USB2 ports are suitable for mouse, keyboard and other USB2 devices. I haven't used ethernet yet as I haven't routed the cable from the modem. There's no on/off switch, but I use a switch on my power conditioner that also turns off my monitors and speakers, so I don't miss it at all. Multiple viewing was easy. Conveniently plug and play. Well, that's after I connected them. Here's the problem with that, not a big problem but easy to deal with if you know in advance. If none of your monitors have an HDMI input, you MUST use an adapter. If your DVI input does NOT have 4 holes for 4 pins around the flat pin, you CANNOT use the included adapters. I thought hey since they also have DVI-VGA maybe I could use both adapters and basically have HDMI to DVI to VGA for one monitor. NO. Since the adapters are separated by gender (male/female), you cannot pair them. Luckily I had my own HDMI to DVI adapter lying around, otherwise I would have had to order one and wait for it to arrive. . So you can connect the dock with an HDMI cable and plug the adapter plugs into the monitor. The spacing between the HDMI and DVI ports on the back of the docking station makes for a very snug fit for bulky adapters. I just pushed mine in. Excellent purchase. Just check your monitor first before placing an order. If you plan on using two monitors and neither of them have HDMI, look for those 4 pin holes surrounding the flat pin. If not, you will need to order your own HDMI to DVI adapter. You don't need anything expensive. It's annoying when you have to wait for another delivery.
