Review on πŸ” SuperHandy Chicken Plucker: Efficient Electric Poultry De-Feather Remover - Heavy Duty Stainless Steel, 1HP, 92 Soft Fingers, 20" Drum Diameter by Rebecca Massey

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It's worth it if you're raising at least 30 birds a year

I love that it can pluck a chicken in about 10 seconds. This year's harvest gave me over 7 pounds of birds. I wouldn't advise putting 2 chicks of this weight at a time but if you are around 4lbs live weight then I think two is fine but you should remove the legs first as you know their nails are razor sharp. I molded a pvc ring under the inside edge for the water jets and it worked really well. The only thing I don't like is having to bend down to turn the motor on and off so I'm going to remove that toggle switch and install an extension about 3 feet long. I also didn't like the length of the cord as you have to plug it right next to an outlet. Luckily I have a pair of 20 foot GFCI cords salvaged from pool pumps and this gives me more freedom to place the plucker in a more convenient location. The feather extension on the underside holds the feathers very well. Just make sure you poke a few holes in your 5 gallon bucket about halfway through. Holes from 3/8 to 1/2 inch work well. Big
