Using gaps on board for pens

I replaced the screws with longer ones to get to the studs and put small washers under the screw heads. My plaster/drywall is very hard so I didn't use shims against the plaster. I used two finishing nails to initially set up the pegboard and mark the holes for use. Then I removed the circuit board and glued the standoffs to the circuit board with a hot glue gun. Replaced the board with decorative nails and used the nail to punch a hole in the plaster/drywall up to the studs and insert the screws.
