I love this watercolor card! It has texture so I wasn't impressed with using a pencil or pen but that's not what it was made for so I wasn't disappointed but it's great with watercolors! Work like a champion! Many times I've found that a certain color just doesn't suit me or I don't like a certain object in my design. I usually have to work with something that can't be removed, but this board allows you to easily pick up paint with a sponge. There is no problem with areas getting a bad dirty color, and it can fill in areas whose light color objects have been removed and have no shadows. Being able to add and/or change colors without messing them up would be really great for anyone new to watercolor painting. adjust to the environment without getting frustrated and ruining tons of expensive papers. It also does not wrinkle like some types of paper and can be framed once dry. As an artist I love it because I love to create, but small things like smoothing, matting and framing I find boring to say the least. Although it might be a bit pricey for the larger sizes I think the price is good. its worth it. I didn't do the math, but if you count the paper thrown away due to mistakes, the matte cardboard and other framing materials not needed for this panel, and compare the total cost of the materials to get the same end product, I'm me sure the cost will be similar using good quality cold press paper.
