gender neutral pattern, we love these

. We already have two of these rugs in our children's play area, but we had to throw one away because it wears out from being walked on every day. These mats are a little pressure sensitive so I recommend being a little more careful and not throwing large/heavy toys on them or placing heavy objects that will leave a permanent dent. However, it's not as fragile as I'd like it to be and we had our previous one for about a year before deciding to replace it with this new one. Our little one stomped and ran all over the mat and most of the mat is fine, just some areas of heavy foot movement felt worn and flattened. Yes, although I'm talking about a different mat, they're basically all made from the same material, so I think it's a fair comparison and expectation of how this mat will look after months of everyday use. I really like this one because it has reinforced and stitched edges. Most mats I have received do not have this protective edge. This extends the life of the rug as the edges will not wrinkle or warp. I love the subtle colors on this rug, it's not too bright. The design is gender-neutral, which makes our playground look very tidy. I've never been a fan of colorful foam puzzle mats and can't stand the way they look - this one is far more visually appealing, at least in my opinion. Corners and edges are protected from wrinkles and flattening. This play mat measures 71 x 59 inches so check the measurements before purchasing, especially if you plan to install a play grip gate around the mat. We actually use two of these mats to cover the surface of my child's playpen. This rug does an excellent job of cushioning its fall from our hard vinyl floors. Like all of these playmats, this one is reversible, so if you get bored with one side you can turn it over and change the "decoration". There are mesh patterns on the mat so it is not so smooth and slippery, which is good and helps your baby/toddler to grab and rub their feet a little. It's easy to clean and wipe down, especially when it comes to liquid and food spills. It does not penetrate the mat and simply stays on the surface until rubbed off. From time to time I hold the mat upright and shake out the food crumbs stuck in the grooves of the mat. It is very light and can be easily turned over or folded for storage when needed. When folded for storage, it really doesn't take up much space. In fact, we have already taken such playmats to the hotel, and it was very easy and convenient. When we got home we just wiped down the entire surface with alcohol wipes - easy! If you are a new parent, I recommend purchasing one or more of these for your child's playground. If one isn't enough, take two and stack them side by side or slightly on top of each other. These things softened my baby's fall many times and made it a lot less painful than it could have been! Please continue to supervise your child while playing as they may still cause pain depending on the angle of fall or fall onto the toy. . You can use it in infancy when the baby only sleeps on the lounger - put the lounger on this rug. Once your child can turn and kick, you can place the play trainer on top for extra cushioning and protection. My toddler learned to crawl on this playmat and I just felt safe letting him explore the surface.

Pros
  • More Durable: The corners and edges of this baby playmat are reinforced and stitched, making this baby playmat more durable than mats without seams
