Review on Schwinn Koen Boys SmartStart Wheels by Michael Wiley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect proportions

I bought the red version from Revain's warehouse (like new). The box was opened earlier, but the bike was not previously assembled. The license plate was missing a screw and the sticker on the front was scratched and torn. never mind The bike was easy to assemble, but a few things needed to be adjusted. The steering column felt nicked so I loosened the top nut a half turn and that solved the problem. The chain and rear wheel (pre-assembled) were also very tight, but I was able to loosen them up a bit. The rest of the assembly is easy and I didn't need any instructions (this is a bike, not a rocket motor). In terms of ergonomics and the SmartStart system, it just seems fantastic to me. This bike looks like it was made for a child's body. It's not as crumpled as most kids' bikes and its proportions are perfect for my son. Really impressed. My son is 42 cm tall and has an inseam of 17 cm. The 14 inch bike is perfect for him AND he has room to grow. He can drop his pointy toes which gives him confidence and he still has enough room to pedal comfortably. VERY happy with the purchase. This is the perfect children's pedal bike and the price is probably the best on the market. Highly recommended.
