I've had a few earring holders in my life and none of them would stand up on their own for long because they'd got top heavy. I'd have to lean them against something and sometimes they'd still fall. This one doesn't have that problem because of the sturdy base. I will say that I intend to glue the earring rack into the base though so when I grab it, it doesn't come apart. I also plan on painting the base to make it more aestetically pleasing and cuter. But I'm very happy with this earring holder overall and am pleased that I was able to hang up all of my earrings and will no longer have to dig through a jewelry box trying to find a matching pair again.
