Works perfectly! in Fan Motors

First of all I would like to say that I bought this product to solve the problem of my fan motor not turning off even when the key is removed. The fan motor just kept running. Most of the reviews here say they bought this part to restore lost speed settings and it took a lot of searching on the web to make sure the problem was in the resistance (some sites call it a regulator, causing confusion led). ). When in doubt, remember that 0 or "Off" has the same speed as 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. It arrived in a larger box that allowed the part (it wasn't wrapped) to fit inside fluttering around. . That was cause for concern, but the part was not damaged, so no damage, no foul. Installation was excruciating as everyone else has pointed out. I had to remove the fan motor first, once it was removed I was able to access this part. The bolts in my 01 Impala holding the fan motor and resistor (6 total) were 7/32. Some sites said they were torx screws, but they weren't on my machine. Someone replaced these parts before I bought the car, so there's a small chance they put different bolts in. As others have pointed out, the third screw is difficult to reach. I think I could pull this off if I had the chance, but it wasn't the first resistance change and the last guy broke the 3rd fastener. I fished the piece back under the dash and reattached it with a screw (I lost the other one somewhere in the dash). A screw held it in place well so you don't have to worry about the old resistor breaking if need be. It took me half an hour, and I'm almost not prone to mechanics. There are tutorial videos on this and I recommend looking for them if you don't normally do repairs yourself. The part is installed and my blower system is working as it should again. Tip: If you notice a puddle on the passenger side floor before replacing this part, make sure you locate the leak and try to fix it. This part is short lived when exposed to moisture.
