UPDATE 02/19/2015 - minus another star because of the PLASTIC IN THE SOLES Tomorrow I have an operation so I cleared out the trays today so Nanny Pig needn't worry. Starting with the good, this single bag fills two 20" x 24" trash cans and two 14" x 12" trash cans, each holding 1 inch of trash. Pretty good and I was impressed. However, I had to take another star off my rating because of all the plastic parts that were closer to the bottom of the bag. It wasn't just a piece or two, and it wasn't tiny pieces that I could probably forgive. These were fairly large pieces painted in red, blue, yellow, and transparent colors. Even some of the real pellets had pretty decent bits of plastic hanging down. I had to carefully sift a full cup. I'm glad the granules are gray so the colored bits stand out very well. Sure (of course) no, but I'm pretty sure I got 99%. I kept the pellets along with the plastic and plastic bits and photographed the prominent ones for others to look out for. The filler still works great with Carefresh Ultra so I will continue to use it. However, I will be more vigilant when cleaning their boxes and suggest others to take the same precautions. The product works great. I bought this along with the Carefresh Ultra Pack to provide trays for my two male guinea pigs. He is comfortable both in her "kitchen" box and hiding under her curtain. It absorbs well enough (at least with Carefresh on top) to be odorless in any stall after two days in the dirtiest pig cage. It wasn't dusty, and while it did have a slight odor, it wasn't chemical or chemical that bothered me or the pig (and I'm SUPER sensitive to even the slightest smells---I can't even handle normal smells). bathroom cleaners, not even the "green" types). Happy with my purchase and I will buy more. Even when my pig sniffed it, none of them tried to eat it (thank goodness!) and they can also decipher their pelleted food from this droppings. And how addicted they are to the trays and how they work, they immediately took root (even those hidden from prying eyes) and they work very well! I use fleece and in two days I've never had to clean real fleece because none of them have had "accidents" outside of two litter boxes. but he has! Makes life so much easier for the piglet and for me!
