A few years ago my husband and I tossed our small kitchen can and got a large round 40 gallon trash can instead. It was hit or miss with bags at first because a lot of them would be deep enough but not fit around the rim of my trash can - wider at the top than it is at the bottom. I had bought some construction bags at the store but they are expensive and came in a small package. Tried one or two other brands on revain and then found these. The price is excellent for the amount of bags you get and we have had no problems using them at all. I have not experienced any of the tearing like others have had, and we are pretty rough on trash here, with the exception of the time we stuck a long, pointy stick in there, but I don't blame the trash bag for that, I blame my husband. :) We tend to pack the bags pretty full and with their size they can get heavy, and we tote them down the long drive to the trash can and we haven't had one burst, so I've been very happy with them.
