I needed to see how long it worked (1 way) some cables . The instructions say this is necessary to see the length of the roll. Most of the wires I use have a set of feet printed on them. I was able to connect two wires to one end and just divide the number by 2 to get the total length. I had to make 50 of these out of 50, I pulled out 4 of these and made a real length gauge. 3 were basically correct and one was less than 2ft - it was said to be just shorter than it was. Didn't mean much to me. I really like the tool and it was quick and easy to use. Worth the cost!
