It was more practical than I expected. Sometimes I work in a hotel and it helps to be able to connect my laptop to the TV room. But that's awkward, you have to sit directly in front of the TV to reach the keyboard. The main reason I bought them is for the conference room in my office. I recently had chronic hiccups, a side effect of an antibiotic. As a result, I had to work in a conference room with the door closed and away from my desktop computer for long periods of the day. Before I got these extensions, I had to put the keyboard on my lap and the mouse on the coffee table because they don't reach far enough to the main conference table. It also facilitates the presentation of the conference room. Very convenient. I can't imagine how much escalation we all have to endure when simple technology purchases are available to make it all go away.
