My 15 month old Yorkie was having problems with his eyes. There was only one visit to the vet: Conjunctivitis: She was given medication but did not recover. Visit to the vet 2: He was bitten by a bug: medication does not help. So I didn't want to spend any more money so I examined my tail and found that the dog food we gave him and our other Yorkie, a Royal Canine, contained some harmful substances. Our breeder recommended Royal Canine and the vet oh and the vet sells crap in the office. Well if I find out anything with chicken or turkey food basically says the food may not be meat but may be bones, hair and other disgusting things I found. They then add extra 'things' to the food to fool the dog into eating a lot and really eating, but most of it has no nutritional value at all and that 20% of dogs are allergic to these additives. I felt like an idiot for trusting the breeder and vet and never looking at dog food because I felt like I could trust them. After learning many bad things about dog food I did a second search and by far the best brand is Blue Buffalo. Since we switched to Blue Buffalo, Yorkie allergies are no longer a problem. The problem was the food, not the conjunctivitis, not the bug bite, and now I'm almost $800 poorer. I found a problem for my dog and I'm not a vet and when they said it was a bug bite I was like oh dude ok but I wasn't sitting well with myself. No more playing with the negligence of others. I am currently grooming both Yorkies. Haircuts, nail trimming and just constant updates so I'm not paying for my dogs life to be in danger and I'm the decision maker and if I ever really need help I will provide it but it has been a revelation. Blue Buffalo saved my dogs lives because it became a problem that was getting worse every day due to the lack of quality and care that Royal Canines have to feed them healthy food. They are a lucrative business trying to make some extra money. perhaps, as my horrific experience made clear!
